About me.

A woman with long blonde hair smiling in a forest with sunlight streaming through the trees, with the text 'REIKI with Tara' in the bottom right corner.

Love and Light, my friend.

My name is Tara, and I am your Reiki Master Practitioner here in Fort Mill, SC. I have studied with the Reiki Education and Research Institute since November 2020 initially earning my Fundamental and Advanced certificates.

In January 2025, I completed my Master training and shortly thereafter began my Practitioner coursework that spanned 20 weeks and included a practicum requirement.

I am filled with gratitude each and every time I give a Reiki session and I am honored to be able to do so. It has made a huge difference in my life personally, helping me manage anxiety, panic attacks, and PTSD.

I live in Fort Mill and enjoy spending time with my Golden Retriever, Miss Millie June, in my spare time. She is the best teacher of love and joy and I learn from her every day.

I look forward to spreading the love and light of Reiki with you. Please reach out with any questions you have about Reiki!

A Safe Place

As a PTSD survivor, I know how important it can be for people with any trauma in their background to feel safe. I am a safe place and I will do what I can to help you feel safe, too. Please feel free to share what I can do to help you feel safe. I also want your session to be as relaxing as possible. If you don’t like sounds or essential oils, just let me know. If you have a question mid-session and you feel it’s important, feel free to ask it.

Reiki has given me the skills to cope with the stressors and challenges that life brings my way, and as someone who *has been through it,* I want to find some silver lining in it all. And that is by helping others who are also going through it.

 FAQs

  • A Reiki session is typically 50 minutes long, with time at the beginning and end to answer your questions. If comfortable, you will lay down on a massage table fully clothed. Your Reiki practitioner will discuss you comfort level. Typically, your Reiki practitioner will do hands-on Reiki energy work on your head and shoulders and below your knees, and do hands-off Reiki energy work on your torso. There may be soft, relaxing music playing and there may be essential oils in the air.

  • Dress in comfortable clothes that you will be able to relax in. Your Reiki practitioner will be placing their hands on your feet, if you are comfortable with that, so you may prefer to wear clean socks.

  • This question can be hard to answer, because everyone is different. Some people will simply feel relaxation and may even fall asleep. Some people may feel warmth or muscle twitching. Some people may see colors in their vision while their eyes are closed. Each person is different. Even if you don’t feel anything, you can trust that the Reiki energy is working.

  • Scientific studies on Reiki are ongoing. While results are mixed, many people find Reiki to be deeply relaxing and restorative. It’s a safe, complementary practice that supports overall well-being and can be used alongside medical care.

  • No, Reiki is not a religion. It is a gentle energy-based practice that supports relaxation and balance. While Reiki can feel spiritual for some people, it does not require any specific beliefs, and people of all faiths—or none—can benefit from it.
